Lethbridge police are looking for five males after an incident where a man was assaulted, kidnapped and forced to participate in another home invasion.
On Sept. 10, five males entered a home along the 1200 block of 22 Street North looking for another male.
That male wasn’t home, but the group began “interrogating an acquaintance,” according to a news release issued by police on Thursday.
The 28-year-old was assaulted and forced outside into a waiting vehicle. The group drove to a second address along Jerry Potts Boulevard and removed the victim and forced him to knock on the door.
When a woman answered the door the group forced their way into the home. One male forced the woman into the wall by grabbing her neck, while another assailant, armed with a baseball bat, searched the home.
When the group didn’t find the male they were looking for they fled and returned to the home on the north side.
The victim was able to escape a short time later.
The suspects are described as having accents and dark hair. One may have been wearing all black clothing and a black hat. He had short facial hair and dreadlocks.
Another is described as having dark hair with a chin strap type beard. He may have been wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
