At around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, police said they had closed 137 Avenue from 113A Street to 127 Street in both directions to investigate the collision.

Eastbound lanes were open again about an hour later, while westbound lanes remained closed between 113A Street and 119 Street.

The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with “serious injuries.”

Police said the person who was hit was not in a vehicle but could not confirm if she was a pedestrian or cyclist or where she was when she was hit.

A longboard skateboard and several other items were seen strewn across a marked crosswalk at 119 Street and a minivan with apparent wheel damage was seen being loaded on to a flatbed truck.

The roads are expected to be closed for the next several hours. That will run through rush hour, so police are advising residents to take a different route home.
