Man charged with 1st-degree murder in fatal stabbing of woman in North York

A 24-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found dead inside a home in Toronto’s north end.

Toronto police said they responded to a call around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday and located a woman without vital signs inside a home on Village Greenway near Don Mills Road just north of Highway 401.

Const. Jenifferjit Sidhu said emergency crews found the female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The age and identity of the woman have not been released.

Police said Yeshudyan Ragbir of Toronto was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree murder.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
