Traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway near Revelstoke is flowing again following a single vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
The crash happened early Sunday morning near Three Valley Lake Chateau Resort which is about 20 kilometres west of Revelstoke.
RCMP said the tractor-trailer unit flipped onto its side when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn at the bottom of a hill — spilling its load of battery acid.
The truck’s diesel fuel and cargo were contained to the highway and police said there was no threat to the environment.
The driver and a passenger were not seriously injured.
The driver from Manitoba was issued a ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The crash reduced the highway to a single lane traffic for several hours.
