IN PHOTOS: Devastating wildfires rage across California, Oregon

Wildfires, driven by high winds and soaring temperatures continue to rage across California and in Oregon.

Fire officials said crews had contained the La Tuna Fire, the largest wildfire in Los Angeles history, after it consumed over 2,800 hectares and forced the evacuation of over 700 homes.

As of Tuesday morning, officials said the fire was no longer actively burning, but crews were monitoring the weather in case wind speeds re-ignite the blaze, the Associated Press reported.

In Oregon, dozens of wildfires scorched more than 800 square kilometres while blanketing much of the state in a haze of smoke.
