The BC Wildfire Service is dealing with a forest fire burning about half way between Kelowna and Penticton on the east side of Okanagan Lake.
The Grayback Mountain fire started overnight Sunday and by Monday afternoon had grown to about 30 hectares.
Air tankers and a bucketing helicopter are dousing the flames from above while 17 fire fighters are on the ground. More crews are being dispatched.
It’s considered a Rank 3 fire meaning there is surface flames with a moderate rate of spread.
The fire is suspected to be person caused.
