The last day of advanced voting will be on Tuesday before the byelection set for Thursday, Sept. 7.

This weekend, each candidate was asked, “What is the biggest priority in your platform?”

Vicki Mowat is the Saskatchewan NDP candidate. She ran for the seat in the 2016 provincial election, losing by less than 200 votes to the Saskatchewan Party’s Jennifer Campeau.

“I want to be able to fight for affordability for people, make life more affordable. This is an important piece for us. We know this is a byelection, so it’s not a chance for us to change government, but it is an opportunity to send a message to the Sask Party,” said Mowat.

“It’s what people are telling me, that they want change. They are absolutely disgusted with what’s been going on in Regina, and not just from the Sask Party’s point of view, but the NDP have simply been uttering rhetoric, ‘Bad guys, bad guys, bad guys elect us,’ and people want real change,” said Prokopchuk.
