The northern part of NDG Park will reopen this weekend after a microburst and thunderstorm devastated parts of Montreal last week.

Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough Mayor Russell Copeman took to Twitter to announce that inspectors had cleared the section of the park to be reopened.

The south side will remain closed until inspectors deem it safe for the public.
“There’s a lot of work to do because there’s a lot of trees that damaged houses, cars so we need to remove them,” explained Pierre Boutin, NDG’s director of public works, last Friday.

The storm damaged an estimated 100 homes, “scores and scores of cars” and 400 trees.
