Car destroyed, garage damaged in early morning Saskatoon fire

An early morning fire in Saskatoon has destroyed a car and damaged a garage.

The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call just before 2 a.m. Thursday of a car fire in the 1200-block of Avenue J South.

Crews from the single engine company that responded arrived to find a car engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to a double-detached garage.

A full general response was issued by the incident commander.

Firefighters put out the car fire and turned to battling the garage blaze.

It took them just under 40 minutes to bring it under control.

No injuries have been reported.

A fire investigator has yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
