A 51-year-old man who experienced life-threatening injuries as a result of an aggravated assault in July has died, Halifax police announced Wednesday.
The man, whose name has not been released, was found after he had been assaulted on July 20 at 7:30 p.m. He was found at the corner of Buddy Daye and Gottingen Streets with a head injury.
He was transported to hospital where he remained until he died on Monday.

An autopsy was conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office on Tuesday but more testing is required to determine the manner of death.
As part of their investigation, Halifax police have been informed that the 51-year-old was assaulted by another man who they believe knew the victim.
Police say that their suspect is between the ages of 40 and 50, approximately 5-feet 5 inches tall, with a medium build and facial hair.

Police have already interviewed a 50-year-old man on July 26 as a part of their investigation.
He was not charged in relation to the incident.
