Alberta man sentenced for killing his father, attacking sister in 2015

A man who admitted to killing his father and attacking his sister west of Calgary has been sentenced.

Tristan Wesley previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault causing bodily harm in the Canada Day 2015 altercation.

RCMP found the body of 55-year-old Myles McLean near the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Morley Road in Cochrane, Alta.

Alberta Justice confirms Wesley, 29, has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars. With credit for time already served, he has two years remaining.

That sentence will be followed by 18 months’ probation.
