For the first time in its history, South Frontenac Township is breaking ground on a new fire hall for the community.
At this point, all of the fire halls in the township are buildings that were repurposed for the department, making this addition in Perth Road Village that much sweeter.
The project is expected to cost $1.4 million and be complete by next spring.

South Frontenac’s Fire Chief, Rick Chesebrough, says this new fire hall will benefit the entire community.
“It’s going to be a proper building, designed for the service and particularly for the fire department. It’s going to provide greater access and accessibility when they are responding to calls. We will be outside the village, it will have the drive through bays which will make it safer for firefighters, and we will have the most modern equipment in there for again firefighter safety and certainly vehicle response.”
