A 24-year-old woman from Lower Sackville, N.S., is facing assault and weapons charges after road rage incident Tuesday afternoon in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional Police (HRP) say at 4 p.m. officers responded to a report of a 27-year-old man being assaulted by a woman in the area of Albro Lake and Victoria roads.

Police say the man told officers that he had honked his horn at a woman for cutting him off and when they stopped at the intersection, the woman got out of her car and approached the man’s vehicle. He says she spit in his face, produced a knife and motioned she would slash the tires. He said she then dropped the knife and left the area in her vehicle.

The man was not injured.

HRP say a K9 member located the car in the 0-100 block of Metropolitan Avenue in Lower Sackville where a traffic stop was initiated. The woman was arrested without incident at 4:38 p.m.
