Belly and the City of Toronto are in a feud.
The rapper performed during the city’s four-day Canada 150 festival that took place at Nathan Phillips Square. During his performance on Monday, the rapper used curse words while performing and some people were not too pleased.
The Special Events Toronto Twitter account apologized to anyone who was offended by the performance and the apology was retweeted by the official City of Toronto account:

“As per contracts, the city expects all artists to deliver G-rated, family-friendly shows suitable for all ages,” the city said in a statement regarding his controversial performance.
Belly wasn’t too happy with having his performance apologized for. In a now deleted tweet, the rapper took to Twitter to share his account of the events. He claimed those involved with his performance were aware that there would be adult language used.
Those who were in attendance for Belly’s performance are split. Some feel that profanity is to be expected, while others noted that it was an all ages event.
