Even if the lake begins to decline more rapidly, levels are not expected to return to normal until the end of July.

The historic high water level has emergency officials warning foreshore residents to remain vigilant.

Warm weather over the next week is expected to bring moderate afternoon winds ranging from 20-30 kms/hr daily.

That means property owners along the lakeshore  should regularly assess and bolster flood protection measures.
