Two men face weapons charges after police responded to a minor vehicle crash in Halifax on Monday.

Police say they responded to the scene on Victoria Road near Dartmouth High School.

While investigating the collision, police say they found a loaded sawed off shotgun, a large bottle of prescription pills, and a small amount of marijuana in one of the vehicles.

An 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from lake Echo, were arrested at the scene without incident.

They are to appear in court today on charges of weapons dangerous to the public, careless use of a firearm, possession of an unauthorized firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and carrying a concealed weapon.
