Nova Scotia RCMP have declared the fire in South Rawdon that occurred on April 3 and claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman to be a homicide.
According to the RCMP, the Hants District detachment responded to a call to a fire in a detached garage shortly after 9:00 a.m. that day. Two young children were rescued from the adjacent home.

The Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office was called to assist with the investigation into the cause of the fire and an autopsy was conducted on April 4 by the Medical Examiner’s Service.
Police have obtained warrants and have searched two homes in Lower Sackville during the investigation but the RCMP are now requesting public assistance in order to find out the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

The Mounties are still investigating and no charges have been laid.
