A 30-year-old North Middlesex woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash Wednesday north of the city involving an SUV and a crane.
Middlesex OPP are investigating the collision, which happened just after 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Denfield Road and Elginfield Road. Police said a crane travelling westbound on Elginfield Road struck an eastbound SUV that was making a left turn onto Denfield.
OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor said the female driver of the SUV was killed in the crash. Police have identified the deceased as Kathryn Kane, 30, of North Middlesex.
The driver of the crane, a 42-year-old man, was not injured, police said.
Elginfield Road was closed for several hours between Coursey Line and Neil Road, while Denfield was closed from Sixteen Mile Road to Airport Drive. Both roadways have reopened, police said.
There have been no charges laid at this time.
