Kitten stolen from Red Deer Petland returned anonymously: RCMP

A kitten stolen from an Alberta Petland store last week is getting medical treatment after it was returned anonymously, Red Deer RCMP said Thursday.

The suspected thief has not been found.

An unidentified person anonymously returned Kennedy the kitten to the store she was taken from, Alberta Animal Services told RCMP.

Kennedy had been taken from the Red Deer Petland in the 5000 block of 22 Street at around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7.

In a Wednesday news release, RMCP said staff were “concerned for the well-being of the kitten as it requires medication for a heath condition.”

Kennedy was apparently ill when she was returned, but is expected to recover, RCMP said Thursday.
