Quebec chanteuse and fan favourite, Ginette Reno, will be joining the Habs at the Bell Centre Wednesday night as they kick-off their playoff run against the New York Rangers.
Reno made the announcement on social media Tuesday night, expressing her great joy for the opportunity.
Ever since Reno started singing the Canadian national anthem before Habs games at the Bell Centre, she’s been considered a good luck charm for the Montreal Canadiens.
Her influence was such, that in 2014, a Habs fan decided to impersonate the famed singer to make sure the team wasn’t without a lucky talisman while on the road.

Olivier Duclos, disguised himself as Ginette Reno and sang the anthem in front of the TD Bank Garden in Boston, ahead of a playoff game. The moment was captured on video and soon made the rounds on social media.
This will be Reno’s third year performing, but hopefully the Habs won’t need to rely too heavily on their good luck charm after finishing the regular season first in their division.
