Man sentenced to 5 years for armed robbery of Kelowna liquor store

A man who robbed a Kelowna liquor store at gunpoint has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Christopher Stocker was arrested Jan. 18 2016, along with another man, Riley Frank.

The pair walked into Jammers Liquor Store shortly after 9 p.m. the night before.

Frank pointed a handgun at the female clerk and demanded money and liquor.

Police caught up with the pair several hours later in Rutland and found a handgun in the truck they were driving.

Last August, Frank was sentenced to five years in prison for his part in the robbery, the mandatory minimum for a robbery involving a firearm.

On Thursday, a judge also sentenced Stocker to a five year term.

He also faces a 10-year firearms prohibition and a $600 victim surcharge fine.
