A man is facing a number of weapon charges after police in Prince Albert, Sask. seized a pistol, rifles and other firearms.
Patrol officers were initially called out to the MacArthur Drive area late Friday afternoon after someone alleged that a man with a handgun tried to get into their vehicle.

He was then seen entering an apartment building in the 700-block of MacArthur.
Officers went to an apartment in the building where they said a visibly intoxicated man answered the door.
He was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon.
Officers said that during the arrest, they saw several firearms in the apartment.

The following day, search warrants were executed by police on the man’s vehicle and apartment.
Police officers seized a black SKS rifle, a Ruger 10/22 rifle, a M305 Norinco .308 semi-automatic rifle and two magazines, a 9 millimeter pistol with two magazines, a modified .410 CBC shotgun and a .177 pellet gun, along with large quantities of ammunition.
The 43-year-old Prince Albert man is charged with a number of weapon offences including possession of a handgun for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, not being authorized to carry a concealed handgun and using a handgun while committing an assault with a weapon.
He was schedule to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Monday.
