79-year-old Abbotsford pedestrian dies after being hit by a car

A 79-year-old Abbotsford woman has died of her injuries after being hit by a car on Wednesday night.

Police say she was walking in the 33400-block of Marshall Road when she was struck.

Police, fire and ambulance rushed to the scene and found the seriously injured woman and a damaged Chevrolet Venture van nearby.

The 52-year-old female driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Officers say she was extremely shaken by what happened.

The victim was rushed to hospital but died a few hours later.
