Small Air Labrador plane damaged by vehicle while sitting on runway

HOPEDALE, N.L. – A damaged twin otter aircraft is being repaired in Labrador today after one of its wings was struck by an airport vehicle.

RCMP say that the aircraft’s wing was struck by an airport service vehicle on Monday when the plane was stationary at the Hopedale airport.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jonathan Kenny says that the Air Labrador aircraft was being used to transport patients for Labrador Grenfell Health.

He says nobody was injured and the patients have been transported on another aircraft.

Once the aircraft is repaired it will be returned to Happy Valley Goose Bay.
