WINNIPEG — One person is in stable condition after an early morning fire broke out on Weatherdon Avenue, and neighbours are concerned about the amount of blood spread across the scene.
“It was just like a splatter across the window,” said neighbour Robyn Arnason.
Two doors down and trying to get some sleep, Arnason was woken up by a loud banging at her door. When she answered, her front steps were empty, and there was blood everywhere.
“He must have been looking to see if he could get anyone’s attention.”
Crews responded to the call around 1:20 a.m., and officials said there were no injuries. The home was completely destroyed.

“I just saw a ton of smoke, and fireman everywhere,” said another neighbour, Jennifer Wolters.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Arnason didn’t see the person who came to her door, but wants to know what happened that caused so much blood.
“He was clearly hurt, and looking for help so it doesn’t concern me, but I wish I could have been here faster for him.”
