Attempted murder charges laid after man was allegedly thrown onto LRT tracks

Three men are facing attempted murder charges after allegedly throwing a man onto Edmonton’s LRT tracks.

It started with a verbal exchange between one man and a group of people on the concourse of the Churchill LRT station on Saturday, November 12. The lone man was then allegedly followed onto the LRT platform by two men from the group.

The pair assaulted the man and threw him onto the LRT tracks. The 49-year-old victim reportedly tried to climb off the tracks, but was stopped by a third man from the group who joined the altercation. Several people saw what was happening and helped the victim climb off the rails. Transit Peace officers arrived and apprehended the three men.

Joeseph Keshane, Wesley Wayne Osecap, and Dean Jr. Rain have each been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. The trio will appear in court on Tuesday, December 4.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police believe the alleged attack was random.
