Alberta Transportation Minister to discuss Ring Road with new Tsuu T’ina chief

Transportation Minister Ric McIver says he will be contacting the Tsuu T’ina’s new chief to discuss the southwest ring road.

Three years ago, the Tsuu T’ina nation opposed the construction of a southwest ring road through their reserve, voting sixty per cent against having the ring road pass through their land.

Both the band council and the provincial government were made up of different people at the time of negotiations.

McIver says he’s feeling optimistic about moving forward with the new chief.

A southwest ring road, built through the Tsuu T’ina reserve, could provide relief for growing traffic congestion along Macleod Trail, Crowchild Trail and Glenmore Trail.
