An extreme cold warning that was put in place Friday by Environment Canada was dropped for the entire province Saturday afternoon.
The warning was issued Friday morning and expanded in the afternoon to cover nearly the entire province of Alberta, including Edmonton.

Very cold winds made it feel like -40 in some areas of Alberta Friday and overnight into Saturday.
Temperatures are expected to warm up a bit on Sunday.

Extreme cold warnings were in place for much of Alberta last week.
Last Friday, people in Fort McMurray, Alta. woke up to a temperature of -37 C — and that’s without the dreaded wind chill. With the wind chill, it felt more like -47 in the northeastern Alberta community.
