Calgary police have laid charges against a massage therapist accused of sexually assaulting a client.

Officers launched an investigation on Nov. 21 after receiving a complaint from a woman who had received a massage at Bare Esthetics and Beauty Equipment, located at 1935 32 Avenue N.E.

It’s alleged the sexual assault happened throughout the course of the woman’s massage.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, told police that once the appointment ended, the therapist left her alone in the room to re-dress.

“When she left the room, the therapist was standing at the door and allegedly told the victim that what happened in the room was to stay between them, and provided her a piece of paper with his name and number on it, telling her to call him,” police said in a news release.

The victim called police after leaving the northeast building.

Angel David Tinco Zambrano, 42, is charged with sexual assault.

A manager at Bare Esthetics said he was a good massage therapist and that staff had “never heard about any incidents.” The manager said staff found out about the investigation on Wednesday and that Zambrano no longer works at the company.
