Sisters Marissa Stocker, 16, and Madison Stocker, 20, have both been playing roller derby in Lethbridge for four years, but never actually played together until this weekend.
Marissa (whose derby name is Smacklemore) used to play with junior skaters on the Windy City Wipeouts, but is now a member of an adult team called the Deathbridge Derby Dames.
Marissa said the game is faster and has more contact.

Madison (who uses the derby name Mad Dawg) said she isn’t worried about her younger sister. In fact, she thinks Marissa will be stiff competition.
“I think [we will] be a force to be reckoned with.”

Both of the young women are rising stars and both have big dreams when it comes to their future in Roller Derby.
“We’re hoping to make Team Canada together next year, so we will see how that goes.”
