TORONTO – Shopping malls in the Greater Toronto Area opened early to entice Black Friday shoppers.
Toronto’s Eaton Centre, which normally opens at 10 a.m., opened its doors four hours earlier but most stores in the mall were not scheduled to open until 7 a.m.
Several other malls around the GTA will open at 7 a.m.

The line-ups were much bigger in the U.S., where Black Friday sales are the highlight of Thanksgiving weekend for many.
While retailers expect a busy holiday shopping season, Canadian consumers are set to break an online shopping record, according to a new poll. More than half of Canadian consumers are opting to ‘click-and-ship’, avoiding busy mall parking lots and long check-out lines, according to the Angus Reid poll commissioned by Federal Express.
The survey reveals that 55 per cent of holiday shoppers will purchase products online, a 10 per cent increase from last year.
