Saskatoon police believe someone fired a shot at officers during a traffic stop at a motel on Idylwyld Drive North.
Officers said they spotted a suspicious vehicle at around 6:30 p.m. at the motel in the 600-block of Idylwyld.
During the traffic stop, officers said they heard a gunshot. Police said evidence gathered later led them to believe it was directed at the officers.

The driver of the vehicle was told to move to safety and officers took cover in their patrol vehicle until the police rescue vehicle was able to move them to safety.
No injuries were reported.
Police detained 17 people from the motel while they carried out their investigation, which lasted for about six hours.
A suspect has not been identified and no firearm was recovered.
Two people were taken into custody on unrelated matters.
A 25-year-old woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon after police said they seized .22-calibre bullets, an axe, a knife and meth.
A 25-year-old man is charged with obstruction and breach of a court order.
Both appeared Friday morning in Saskatoon provincial court.
