WINNIPEG — A group of local women, hosted their first ever women run geek craft fair Sunday.

Geek Girls Winnipeg hosted their first ever Holiday Geek Craft Fair Sunday afternoon.

Organizers said it gave some of the over 400 members of the women’s group an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Samantha Beiko, the Co-Organizer of Holiday Geek Craft Market, said a lot of the members are artists and this is a chance for them to showcase their unique work.

“In a lot of these fan groups they are male dominated and have been for the most of their history. But the truth is, women have always been the biggest demographic and fans in these groups,” said Beiko

Beiko said her group is focused on recognizing all women, transgender, female-identifying, and more. Giving everyone a safe space to be who they are and share in their love for comics and arts.
