29-year-old man charged with attempted murder in shooting investigation

Robert Chappell, 29, of Toronto has been charged with attempted murder after police responded to an alleged shooting that happened near Leslieville early Friday morning.

Police said a woman was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries near Walpole Avenue and Greenwood Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Later that morning Emergency Task Force officers attended a home near Coxwell Avenue and Dundas Street East and arrested a man.

In addition to attempted murder, Chappell has been charged with ten other offences including careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon and failure to comply with probation.
