Disney doppelganger? Kelowna man bears striking resemblance to Moana character

Watch Above: Have you ever seen a Disney doppelganger? Well, a Kelowna man is getting quite a bit of attention for just how much he looks like a character from Disney's latest blockbuster, Moana. Lauren Pullen reports.

An Okanagan tattoo artist, renowned for his Polynesian body art, is now in the limelight for a different reason — his striking resemblance to a Disney character.

Tautu Ellis is getting all sorts of attention for just how much he looks like the demigod, Maui, from the Disney blockbuster Moana.

We’ll let you decide:

He’s received all sorts of comments on facebook, been stopped on the street — and let’s not even get started on what happens when he goes to toy stores — but Ellis is happy to play the part.

“I go look at the kids and do the eyebrow thing and they go ‘ohhhh!'” Ellis said.

He’s happy the film is putting his Polynesian culture on the big screen and pretty proud to look like one of the main characters.

While Ellis hasn’t seen the film, that’s the plan for him and his wife this weekend.
