RCMP divers have located the bodies of two people after a truck went through the ice of a northern Saskatchewan river.

Île à la Crosse RCMP were alerted late Tuesday morning that a vehicle may have gone into the Canoe River near kilometre 130 on Highway 155.

Officers arrived to find a large hole in the ice.

The RCMP underwater recovery team located a 55-year-old woman in the truck.

Late Wednesday, divers located a 53-year-old man outside the truck.

Both were from Beauval, Sask. Their names have not been released.

They had been reported missing Tuesday evening by family members.
