Police tight-lipped as RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit investigates homicide in Grande Prairie

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating after a man was found injured in a Grande Prairie home and later died in hospital.

Mounties said officers were called to a residence in the northwest Alberta city where they found the man at around 4:30 p.m.

They said one person is in custody and that the man’s death is being investigated as a homicide. However, they did not say if they expect to lay charges.

Police did not say how the man died or why the death was being investigated as a homicide but said they “believe this was not a random act and there is no risk for public safety.”
