The driver of a red Corvette had a Vernon Mountie seeing red.
RCMP say the officer with the Integrated Road Safety Unit watched as the sports car pulled onto Highway 97 from 27th Street.

It quickly accelerated, reaching a speed of 160 km/hr in a 90 zone.
The driver was ticketed for excessive speeding and failing to produce a driver’s license.
“Driving that fast makes you a danger to yourself and everyone else around you,” said IRSU Cst. Phil Dobernigg in a news release. “We take excessive speeding very seriously and you never know where we might be.”
The Corvette was impounded for a week.
