A popular Edmonton bridal shop has suddenly shut its doors.
Wedding World Bridal, located on 53rd Avenue and Gateway Boulevard, has been in operation for about 30 years.
Its sudden closure has left many customers concerned but, the former owners of the shop say customers needn’t worry, everyone will be taken care of.
A notice was posted on the front door of the locked store, Thursday. It states the landlord took back the property on November 2.
Customers are now being directed to The Wedding Gown Shop, which is located on 75th Avenue and Gateway Boulevard. It is operated by one of the co-owners of Wedding World Bridal.
The following statement was issued, via email, by Wedding World Bridal on Thursday afternoon.
“Unfortunately Wedding World Bridal has had to close its doors after being a local Edmonton business for years!! WWB has helped thousands of brides look their very best on their wedding day and we want to continue to make sure that ALL of our customers get their dresses!! The Wedding Gown Shop has taken over the outstanding ordered bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses that have not arrived yet. At this time all brides should have been contacted by The Wedding Gown Shop to let them know who they are and that if they need anything confirmed or checked on that they are the shop to talk to and they will be the shop delivering their dresses!! All outstanding deposits are to be paid to The Wedding Gown Shop. If anyone has any concerns about ordered dresses please contact them directly @ 780-863-5699.”
The email went on to thank all of Wedding World Bridal’s customers.
