During this year’s hotly-contested U.S. presidential race, some people, including Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, urged developers to drop Donald Trump’s name from a new tower under construction in downtown core.
It appears that someone managed to do just that on Google Maps where the Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver was briefly renamed “Dump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver.”
The Vancouver tower, which has been the target of protests in the past, is not the only Trump property to have taken on a new moniker on the popular street-mapping service.

Vancouver Trump Tower is a ‘PR nightmare,’ according to expert
WPIX-TV reports that Google Maps users began noticing the new name for the Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan on Saturday and some took to social media to report it.
Trump, the Republican president-elect, has not yet commented on it. Trump has been using New York’s Trump Tower as his transition headquarters.
A statement from Google Maps says it apologizes for any offence that may have been caused by the renaming and its teams immediately took action to fix the issue.
Questions about how the problem could have occurred or who might have caused it were not answered.
