Canadian Toy Testing Council announces top toys

Santa’s elves – otherwise known as the children of the Canadian Toy Testing Council – have done their work and the results have landed in the form of the annual Toy Report.

The report is the result of months of testing by a small army of children who play with everything from traditional dolls and board games to new toys that revolve around apps and other technology.

Their analysis is the foundation of the Toy Report, which acts as a barometer of children’s changing play preferences and toy trends from year to year.

“We’re excited to be celebrating 60 years of testing toys,” says Liliane Benoit, executive director of the Council. “About 400 children have tested over 400 toys this season and are delighted to present their top choices.”

The Canadian Toy Testing Council
has been testing toys since 1952, examining each model and evaluating, through the eyes of children, factors such as durability, safety and value. Their always-anticipated report, arrives just before holiday shopping kicks into high gear.
