Man in critical condition after truck crash on Highway 40

Around 10:30 p.m. Monday night, a semi-trailer truck crashed into a snow plough on the eastbound Highway 40 near Saint-Jean Boulevard in Pointe-Claire.

The snow plough was working in the middle lane when the driver of the truck was unable to brake, according to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Claude Dennis.

The 42-year-old driver of the truck is in critical condition.

The driver of the snow plough was taken to hospital and treated for shock.

That portion of Highway 40 was closed for the time being, but has since reopened.
