Mike Pence, the U.S. vice-president-elect, attended a Broadway performance of Hamilton on Friday and was booed by the audience.
Following the show, cast member Brandon Victor Dixon (who plays Aaron Burr in the show), spoke to Pence directly in a monologue. He also made some pointed remarks about the Trump administration and Pence himself.
“We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” Dixon said while Pence was exiting his orchestra seat.

“We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us.”
By Saturday, president-elect Donald Trump had tweeted that the cast owed Pence an apology.
Instead of apologizing, people on social media created a hashtag to further troll Pence in wake of the Hamilton controversy.

Many people on Twitter are making up their own Pence-inspired musicals using the hashtag #NameAPenceMusical.
Many of the suggested Pence musicals mention the vice-president-elect’s opposition to LGBTQ rights and support for “conversion therapy” (which supposedly “cures” gay people of their homosexuality).
Others mention the Trump campaign’s racism and Pence’s refusal to condemn former KKK leader David Duke as “deplorable.”
Some Twitter users focused on the upcoming administration’s anti-abortion views and the leaked video from 2005 that put Trump’s presidential campaign in danger.
The internet also got to work and created many President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden memes (once again).
