It was a dangerous morning on Metro Vancouver roads as three people died in two separate crashes in Surrey and Delta on Sunday.

According to Surrey RCMP, the drivers of two vehicles were killed in a head-on collision on King George Boulevard near 81 Avenue just after 8 a.m.

In Delta, police blocked off Ladner Trunk Road between 104 and 112 Streets after a fatal crash between a jeep and a semi-truck around 9 a.m.

Delta Police said the jeep was travelling eastbound when it veered off Ladner Trunk Road and struck a semi that was parked off the roadway. The driver of the jeep died from injuries sustained in the crash.

A member of the Surrey Fire Service confirmed that the victim in the Delta crash was a 15-year veteran of the department.

Ladner Trunk Road has since re-opened.
