Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo: Nathan Fillion first guest announced for 2017

Organizers announced Wednesday that actor Nathan Fillion will be attending next year’s Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo.

Fillion, known for his roles in Firefly and Castle, is the first guest to be unveiled for the 2017 event.

The news came in advance of the first-ever Calgary Expo Holiday Market, set to run at the BMO Centre this weekend.

According to organizers, the market is a holiday shopping event to help Calgarians find the perfect geeky gift. It will feature hundreds of vendors and exhibitors selling everything from lightsabers to comic books.

The event runs Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Ticket are $10 and available at the door.

Tickets for the 2017 Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo go on sale on Nov. 26.
