Crop-dusting business fined over aerial spraying in northwestern Alberta

A crop-dusting company based out of Westlock, Alta. has been fined after pleading guilty to spraying a pesticide without a valid pesticide service registration.

On Monday, Alberta Environment and Parks said Western Air Spray Inc. was fined $12,500 in connection with an aerial spraying incident on farmland near Falher, Alta. in June 2013.

On June 8, 2016, the company pleaded guilty to one count under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act.

Falher is about a four-and-a-half our driver northwest of Edmonton.
