2 boys charged in connection to Garden Hill First Nation fire

RCMP charged two boys with arson after a fire broke out at the Garden Hill Band Office.

On Monday around 10:30 a.m. an Island Lake RCMP officer saw the fire at the band office, which was under construction and unoccupied according to an RCMP news release.

He heard voices inside the burning building and went inside through a window. He then found and rescued a youth still inside the building.

No one was injured but two boys, 12 and 13, were arrested and charged with arson. They were released from custody.
