The vast visible majority of Hollywood was made up of Hillary Clinton supporters, so the news that Donald Trump will be the 45th president of the United States has rattled celebrity morale to the core.

It’s apparent on Twitter and other social media platforms, where stars have been lamenting the election results since early Wednesday morning. Some celebrities, like Katy Perry, are attempting a Twitter boycott to protest a Trump presidency with the hashtag #TwitterBlackout. The protesters are also changing their profile pictures and dashboards to a straight black background.

Other celebrities, like Miley Cyrus, openly wept over Clinton’s loss and begrudgingly accepted Trump’s presidency. She also thanked outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama.
Apparently Cyrus wasn’t the only one who cried over the news.
Others did their best to provide strength and comfort to those devastated by the outcome of the election.

Lady Gaga even staged her own protest outside of Trump Tower in Manhattan. The singer stood atop a sanitation truck, protesting the result in the early hours of the morning.
Some stars straight-up attacked Trump and the third-party candidates like Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, including Cher and Rose McGowan.

Canadian celebrities did their best to assuage their neighbours to the south, some with a bit of humour.
Trump supporters, the minority in Hollywood, were thrilled with the election results.

While others, true to form, just made jokes — like comedian Ricky Gervais and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
Trump will be sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2017.
