Bystander threatened with dirty needle during alleged robbery in Nanaimo

The Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a disturbing robbery that took place at a local fast-food restaurant on Monday.

They say a man tried to rob the Wendy’s restaurant, located at Port Place Mall at 660 Terminal Ave.

Investigators say when a bystander tried to intervene, the suspect told him he would stab him with a dirty needle.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the till and ran away.

He is described as South Asian, in his early twenties, 5 ft. 8 to 5 ft. 11 tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a red collar, black pants and black shoes.
