Saskatoon arson investigators looking into car fire

The Saskatoon Fire Department says a car fire at the corner of Highway 7 and 11th Street is believed to be human-caused.

Fire crews were called to the area at around 2:20 p.m. CT on Saturday.

“I could tell there was a little bush on the side catching and, I don’t know, it didn’t look good so I thought I’d call it in,” Eric Phillips said.

Firefighters found a vehicle in flames that was difficult to access because it was stuck in a muddy field.

Damage is pegged at $40,000. Arson investigators will be looking into the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.
